Media, Old and New Working Group Meeting, November 2016

Title: The Working Group in Media, Old and New working group meeting

When: Thursday, November 3, 2016 / 5:30

Where: Old College, Room 211

On Thursday November 3rd, at 5:30pm in Old College 211, we will hear brief work in progress presentations from two graduate students in Art History.

This session will be “work in progress” presentations by graduate students working on media-related projects in various disciplines. We look forward to an informal, interdisciplinary setting where graduate students can receive feedback on their research.

Anne Cross will present her ongoing research into the slow assimilation of photography into print as part of the American pictorial press in the nineteenth century, entitled “An Irreverent Estimate of the Daguerreotype,” or, the Unstable Relationship between Harper’s Weekly and the Photographic Resource. Karli Wurzelbacher will speak about dissertation research on tinsel painting and American modernism called “Tinsel Painting Meets Modernism: The Reverse Glass Painting.”
