Material Culture Studies is a wide-ranging field that crosses disciplines and theoretical boundaries while maintaining a common interest in investigating things – how they are made, used, described, and conserved as well as what things are, what objects symbolize, and why material culture persists as fundamental to the human experience of the past, present, and future.
