Research & Teaching at the Winterthur Museum, Garden, and Library

Conducting Research & Teaching with the Winterthur Museum in Wilmington, DE

Winterthur is not only a museum, but also a vibrant research institution that welcomes collaboration with the University of Delaware. Areas that could benefit from its resources include (but are not limited to) Art History, Architecture, Craftsmanship, Horticulture, Interior Design, Set Design, Art Conservation, History, and American Literature. The museum contains a vast collection focused on American decorative and fine arts from about 1600 to 1860, as well as an extensive library with relevant materials into the 21st century.

Classroom and library visits to use the museum’s resources can be arranged at any time of the year, complementing course offerings as well as aiding independent research.
