University of Pennsylvania to Display Items from UD “Victorian Passions” Exhibit on September 25, 2017

On 25 September, 2017, the Kislak Center for Special Collections, Rare Books and Manuscripts at the University of Pennsylvania Libraries will host a special display of highlights from the recent UD Library exhibition, Victorian Passions: Stories from the Mark Samuels Lasner Collection, which honored the gift of that collection to UD Library.

This exhibition was curated by Margaret D. Stetz, Mae and Robert Carter Professor of Women’s Studies and Professor of Humanities. The one-day display at University of Pennsylvania will feature 22 items from the UD Library exhibit, and will include Stetz’s original exhibition labels. The display coincides with an event at the Kislak Center organized by the Association Internationale de Bibliophile, a scholarly association based in Paris that is devoted to book history and collecting, and will include a visit to the University of Pennsylvania by its members.
